Dr. Piers Robinson is author of The CNN Effect: the myth of news, foreign policy and intervention (Routledge, 2002), lead author of Pockets of Resistance: British news media, war and theory in the 2003 invasion of Iraq (Manchester University Press, 2010), and co-editor of The Routledge Handbook of Media, Conflict and Security (2016). His work is published in journals including Journal of Communication, Journal of Peace Research, Review of International Studies, Political Science Quarterly, Frontiers in Communication, Political Studies and Critical Sociology.
In this article, Dr. Robinson conducts an extensive review of key findings established by the 9/11 research community over the past two decades and identifies areas where further research is called for in order to reach a fuller understanding of the events of September 11, 2001.
